Working on RESPECT

We’re all very fortunate to live in a state that utilizes an AEA systems that provide access to wonderful learning opportunities on a regular basis. Over the years I have taken many PDs and I’ve learned many things. I often think back and realize how little I knew before starting work on topics such as literacy, advanced behavior assessments, or visual supports. There are other PDs, however, that feel more like a good refresher for something I have learned before. When I think about all of the professional development that I have had over the years, none of these training opportunities left me with a profoundly different outlook on my work until I took the RESPECT training.

The Grocery Quandary

So my favorite grocery store, ALDI, was just completely remodeled. The first time I went back to
the new store I had an immediate sense of awe at how new and shiny everything looked, but
this feeling quickly shifted to a feeling of uneasiness. If you’ve never been in an ALDI, it’s a lot
like IKEA where they heard you through the maze of aisles like cattle. If you’ve never been to
IKEA then drive to Minneapolis and make a day of it, because let me tell you it will take a day.
Sorry, I digress.
